If the Democrat National Convention, being held this week in Charlotte, North Carolina, can take steps to becoming a green event, is there any excuse for any other major conference or expo for not doing the same?
According to a number of media reports, the DNC is using:
- improved recycling programs
- low toxicity paints
- reusable water bottles
- shuttle bus service for delegates
- bicycle buses, each holding eight delegates
- electric powered machinery
- non-toxic adhesives
- recycled polyester carpeting
- reusable structures
- locally sourced and organic foods
